Most of the images I take are candid, recording events as they unfold, allowing you to get on and enjoy your big day.
I stage certain images such as groups and couple portraits as they will not happen by themselves. They account for a small %.
Even with staged photographs, I tend to keep things quite informal. Tidy and neat, yes. But still very much informal.
I engage with you and your guests to shoot from the perspective of an insider, rather than that of a passive bystander.
Don’t delay, they are growing up fast.
I’ve never known any parent to say ‘I wish we took fewer special photographs of the kids when they were growing up’. It just doesn’t happen. One minute they are all cute with teeth slightly too large for their faces and the next you only see them when they need to borrow the car! Although it may not feel like it at the time, family life is fleeting and they grow up fast. Capturing your young family in a beautiful family photo is something parents never regret.
Once time has passed the opportunity is gone forever. The good news is that its never too late to start recording your family.
In a family shoot I can shoot the children and parents individually and in various groups including the whole family together, which is always the picture that is missing from most peoples albums!
