Dance Photography

What I Do

I photograph dance schools, productions and dancers upon request.

Perhaps you are a dance school looking to promote your business and are looking for high quality inspirational images for your website or literature. Perhaps you are putting on a performance and want to capture images from that professionally. Perhaps you simply want to capture your schools dancers in action at a competition.

Alternatively you may be an individual dancer or group looking for either promotional images or simply to capture a time in your life with high quality professional images.

Who I Am

I am an experienced photographer and competitive dancer. Somebody who understands what shapes the dancers are striving for and who can anticipate when the dancer will reach full extension by listening along and understanding the music. My main personal dance experience has been in dancesport which is Ballroom and Latin American dancing.

Photographically I’ve been trading since 2003 until recently focussing on weddings and portraiture. I’ve been commissioned to shoot hundreds of jobs and have been published internationally through my agent. Dance has been a big part of my life for years and so it only seems natural to bring both worlds together.

How It Works

While an event photographer will turn up at an event and shoot speculatively, with a focus on sales and on-site printing the way I work is rather different. I am commissioned in advance and shoot to a brief. This allows me to focus on a lower volume of higher quality images suitable for promotional purposes. A fixed price is agreed beforehand which is affected by location, duration and type of shoot.

Prices vary depending on travel costs, if an overnight stay is required and duration.

A typical half-day shoot in local area including London from £300
